Dr Rakesh Mohanlall
Introduction
Dr Rakesh Mohanlall is a Clinical Technologist, specializing in cardiovascular perfusion and holding 22 years of experience in the cardiac field. He worked as part of the heart bypass team in South Africa at Wentworth Hospital from 1995 to the end of 2000 before he went abroad to Saudi Arabia for the next 7 ½ years, where he became the head of the cardiovascular perfusion department. He was involved in various research, studies and training with international cardiologists, surgeons, and perfusionists where he gained a vast array of knowledge on the cardiovascular system and how it functions. He achieved numerous accolades for his contribution to cardiac rehabilitation in Saudi Arabia. There he completed his masters research through the Durban University of Technology and became the first person in any university of technology in Africa to have his masters converted into a doctorate due to the intensity of his research. This made him the first perfusionist in the world to have a doctorate in cardiovascular perfusion. He has a patent to his name and hopes to build this machine in the future to treat blood.
2008: He returned to South Africa to share his knowledge and experience for the benefit of the South African population. He is a pioneer in bringing various cutting edge non-invasive technologies to South Africa together with his partners. He is an expert in non-invasive cardiac rehabilitation and he is well recognized internationally in the field of non-invasive cardiac diagnosis and treatment with training done in South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, and India as well as trained by the Chinese.
2010: Together with his partners he open the first South African External Counterpulsation Centre. This is an alternate treatment to cardiac surgery as well as performed when surgery has failed.
2012: He started the Centre for Advanced Medicine by introducing the 1st state of the art non-invasive cardiac diagnostic test known as 3 Dimensional Vasculography. The test is used for Early Detection and Management of cardiovascular disease.

2014: SAECP was accredited by the HPCSA as a Satellite Training centre for ECP
2014: Interviewed on Radio Lotus - “Walk the Talk” with Alan Khan
2015: Featured on the Cover of Change Now Magazine
2016: Completed and published a new study on a Russian screening Technology for the first time known as a Virtual Light Scan. This technology is used for genetic mapping and organ dysfunction
2017: Open a new SAECP franchise in Newcastle in KZN, South Africa with a specialist medical doctor
2017: Asked to write articles for the Sunday Herald on “Lets Talk”
2017: Biography published in the Sunday Tribune newspaper
2017: Interviewed on Megazone Radio – Medical Matters with Vishal Maharaj
